Privacy Policy

Leader, LLC (“Leader”, “We” or “Us”) recognizes that your privacy is very important, and we take it seriously. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, disclosure, and sharing of your personal information when you use any related website or domain operated by Leader (the “Sites” or “Platform”), or any Services accessed from any Sites. Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Service.

Information We Receive From You & How We Get It

Your Public Contributions

  • When you make a contribution to the Leader Platform, including named entity identification, relation between named entities (collectively “metadata”), comments, and reviews, you are creating a permanent, public record of every piece of content added, removed, or altered by you. They are content viewable by users of the Leader Platform and non-registered users.

Account and Profile Information

  • You are required to create an account to use Leader’s browser extension or search on the Leader Platform and to contribute to the creation of content, including metadata, reviews and flagging others’ content.
  • When you create an account and profile on the Leader Platform, we collect your name, email address and other information you provide, such as topics that you’re interested in. Your name, photo, and any other information that you choose to add to your public-facing profile will be available for viewing by the public and other users of the Leader Platform. In addition, your profile may be indexed by search engines.
  • Once you create a profile, others will be able to see in your profile certain information about your activity on the Leader Platform, such as the number of metadata you create, errors you corrected etc.

Location Information

  • When you interact with the Leader Platform, we automatically receive the IP address of the device (or your proxy server) you are using to access the Internet, which could be used to infer your geographical location. This provides a way to serve more relevant search results to you.

Information We Receive Automatically

  • Because of how browsers work, we receive some information automatically when you interact with the Leader Platform. This information includes the type of device you are using, the type and version of your browser, your browser's language preference, the type and version of your device's operating system, in some cases the name of your internet service provider or mobile carrier, the website that referred you to the Leader Platform, which pages you request and visit, and the date and time of each request you make to the Leader Platform.

Communications.

  • When you communicate with us (via email, through the Leader Platform, or otherwise), we may maintain a record of your communication.

User Activities

  • Leader’s products will actively track a user’s requests to well-known news content providers so metadata stored on the Leader Platform can be applied to create a “one-click” search experience. However, this information will not be stored or logged together with a user’s profile, IP address or device hence these user activities will never be tied to a person.
  • User activity metrics, such as how often a metadata stored on Leader platform is used are tracked and stored anonymously. For example, we store the number of times a metadata is used to render a page or generate a search, but we do not know who initiated these actions.

Cookies Policy

  • When you use Leader to search or display clickable search links, we do not require you to share any information with us, including account information. At Leader, no cookies are used by default to track a user’s activity nor do we attempt to tie users’ activities to an IP address or device. If you have changed any settings, then cookies are used to store those changes. However, in that case, they are not stored in a personally identifiable way.

Protection

For Legal Reasons

  • We will disclose your information in response to an official legal process only if we believe it to be legally valid. We will notify you of such requests when possible.
  • We will access, use, preserve, and/or disclose your Personal Information if we reasonably believe it necessary to satisfy a valid and legally enforceable warrant, subpoena, court order, law or regulation, or other judicial or administrative order.
  • Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal objections or defenses you may have to a third party's request (whether it be civil, criminal, or governmental) to disclose your information. We recommend seeking the advice of legal counsel immediately if such a request is made involving you.

To Protect You, Ourselves & Others

  • We, or particular users with certain administrative rights as described below, may need to share your Personal Information if it is reasonably believed to be necessary to enforce or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy. We may also need to access and share information to investigate and defend ourselves against legal threats or actions.

Protecting Your Data

  • We strive to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We use a variety of physical and technical measures, policies, and procedures (such as access control procedures, network firewalls, and physical security) designed to protect our systems and your Personal Information. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as completely secure data transmission or storage, so we can't guarantee that our security will not be breached (by technical measures or through violation of our policies and procedures).
  • We will never ask for your password by email (but may send you a temporary password via email if you have requested a password reset). If you ever receive an email that requests your password, please let us know by sending it to admin@leadr.software, so we can investigate the source of the email.

Keeping Data

  • Once we receive personal Information from you, we keep it for the shortest possible time that is consistent with the maintenance, understanding, and improvement of the Leader Platform, and our obligations under applicable U.S. law.
  • Please remember that certain information, such as your username and any public contributions to the Leader Platform, is archived and displayed indefinitely by design; the transparency of the public contribution and revision histories is critical to their efficacy and trustworthiness.

Our Response to Do Not Track (DNT) signals

  • We are strongly committed to not sharing nonpublic information and Personal Information with third parties. In particular, we do not allow tracking by third-party websites you have not visited (including analytics services, advertising networks, and social platforms), nor do we share your Personal Information with any third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Because we protect all users in this manner, we do not change our behavior in response to a web browser's "do not track" signal.
  • Because things naturally change over time and we want to ensure our Privacy Policy accurately reflects our practices and the law, it may be necessary to modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. We reserve the right to do so in the following manner:

  • If this policy is substantively updated, we will update the text of this page and provide notice to you by displaying prominent notice at Leader’s about page and a link to this page (in the footer) for a period of at least 30 days.
